Asakusa: Sensoji Shrine

Hard to explain how happy I am to be able to wear a colorful scarf & boots! If only I could wear this in Singapore too!
This fine Sunday afternoon, we made our way to Asakusa. The famous Sensoji Shrine has an interesting story behind it. Legend has it that 2 brothers once fished out a statue of the Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) from the Sumida River. Even though the statue was returned to the river, it always came back to them. This Shrine was built to honor Kannon.

Time to get your fortune told?
This mild garden leads up to a classy Japanese restaurant where waiters and waitresses don the kimonos. Tempting~

This quaint & cosy cafe caught my attention. Tucked away along a side lane, it enjoys its own crowd while the tourists continue to throng the main street.

Laura showed me Kimudolls like this in Singapore. Here in Tokyo, it has wonderful flowerly decorations on it:)
Well, well. Pretty lady spotted!

This restaurant provides Ninja entertainment!!!!

This cute little girl was staring at me on the train and I decided to introduce myself with my basic Japanese. I then asked if I could take a photo of her. She gamely agreed and slid easily into that cute pose! These young girls have a sporty class of their own.

Aha! Pictures of my room. As you can see, it's pretty spacious.:) Bought those flowers at a wonderful flowershop.. ah, they really brightened up my room.

This is the first symbol of my independent life here in Tokyo!
