We have had our fair share of goodbyes, fully relished the day of our graduation and returned to our home countries. Here I stand at another checkpoint in my life, after having completed my Masters' and before returning to my work in the public sector.
I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity to pursue my further studies in the National Graduate Institute of Policy Studies, GRIPS. I have learnt much from the Professors and staff of GRIPS, even more from my peers from various countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. What emerges from the intense class discussions, challenging term papers and examinations is a global realistic perspective of life - these are real-time issues not just related to public policy, but rather those concerning socio-political, political and economic ones as well. In my opinion, this is a valuable takeaway aside from the theoretical background of various specialized topics that we have gained during the course of our study. A well-rounded and genuine understanding of elements and infrastructure that support a society is critical to fully understanding the implications of policy. I do hope that I can apply what I have learnt in the near future.
On another note, it is indeed a rare and valuable chance to spend a year in Japan. We've made friends who have supported us in our projects and efforts. The moments spent travelling with my buddies to the various prefectures of Japan during her different seasons seem to have become my brightest memories of life in this beautiful country.
This has been yet another memorable chapter and I am so thankful for all the wonderful people who have crossed my path in Japan.
Till we meet again, I wish you all good health, happiness and success in all that you do!
Arigato Gozaimasu!
