I am thankful to have him as my neighbor. When I first moved to Tokyo, clueless about cooking, cleaning and had no friends, Yaxing befriended me and shared alot about his background and country's history with me. For many dinners other than which I would have had to eaten alone, Yaxing tolerated my 'raw vegetables' and 'half-cooked soups' to discuss China's history, foreign policy, politics and culture with me from the early 1900s right up to 2008 :). His unassuming and genial ways made me laugh alot! Soon, Nan and Ry joined us in our little study sessions and dinners. If you give yourself a chance to know him, Yaxing will look out for you, in his own way.
My heart is filled with gratitude as much it is with well-wishes for Yaxing's future. And i'm sure it would be a bright one!
